Leveling Up Figranium: Joining the Mintlify OSS Program

Building an open-source project is a marathon, not a sprint. For the past few months, I’ve been heads-down on Figranium, working to create a self-hosted, no-code browser automation platform that feels truly modern. But as any developer knows, a project is only as good as its documentation.

If users can't easily understand how to deploy your Docker containers or configure your Playwright-backed nodes, the code might as well not exist.

That’s why I am incredibly stoked to announce that Figranium has officially been accepted into the Mintlify for OSS program.

The "Leap of Faith" Migration#

I’ll be honest: I didn't wait for an acceptance letter to start moving. I was so confident that Mintlify was the right home for Figranium’s documentation that I actually completed the entire migration before I even got the official "yes."

The migration is now 100% complete. Right now, the only thing left on the checklist is fine-tuning the SEO to make sure Figranium is easy to find for anyone looking for open-source automation tools.

Why Mintlify? (And Why it Matters for You)#

I’ve always had a specific vision for Figranium: it needs to be powerful, but it also needs to be clean. My personal preference has always leaned toward a minimalist, high-contrast aesthetic—no fluff, just functionality.

Mintlify is the gold standard for that "developer-first" look. By joining their OSS program, Figranium gets access to professional-grade features that are usually reserved for high-growth startups:

  • Interactive API Playground: Since Figranium is all about automation, having a place where users can test endpoints and see real-time responses directly in the docs is a game-changer.
  • Deep Customization: I’ve synced the documentation's UI with the minimalist branding I've built for the app itself, keeping everything cohesive.
  • AI-Powered Insights: This is the most exciting part...

Meet "Figgie" – Your New AI Support Agent#

Thanks to Mintlify’s advanced indexing, I’m excited to introduce Figgie, our new AI support agent.

Figgie is fully aware of every single page of the Figranium documentation. If you have a question about a specific Playwright node or a Docker deployment error, Figgie has the answer.

You can find Figgie right now in the #🤖-ask-ai channel of our Discord server. Whether you’re stuck on a configuration or just want to see what the tool can do, Figgie is there to help 24/7.

The Bigger Picture#

Acceptance into Mintlify is a major milestone, but it’s just one piece of the puzzle. As Figranium grows, the infrastructure requirements are becoming more "real." To keep the momentum going, I’ve also submitted applications to several other leaders in the space:

  • Vercel: To handle our front-end deployments with the speed and reliability they're known for.
  • DigitalOcean: To provide the backbone for our self-hosting templates and containerized environments.
  • Claude (Anthropic): I also threw an application their way to see if we could integrate frontier AI models more deeply into our automation workflows.

To be completely honest? I most likely won't get accepted into the Claude program—frontier AI labs are a tough nut to crack for early-stage OSS—but it’s worth the attempt. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

A Huge Thank You#

I want to give a massive shout-out to the Mintlify team. Supporting independent open-source projects like mine helps the entire open-source ecosystem thrive. It’s a huge vote of confidence to have their backing this early in the journey.

Figranium is evolving fast. With the right tools and the right community support, I’m confident we can build the best self-hosted automation tool out there.

Go check out the new docs, and I'll see you in the Discord!
